You're accessing less than 1% of your Film Breakdown data's potential...
That's not an indictment on your intelligence or coaching expertise, it's a matter of simple math. If you're like most coaches you invest a lot of time breaking down film of your opponent looking for identifiable tendencies and weaknesses that you can exploit on game day. The problem is that the High-Probability Tendencies you're looking for (things that happen with 80, 90, even 100% certainty) won't be found in obvious situations. They are there to be had, but to find them you'll have to search thru hundreds of thousands (in many cases even millions) of situational combinations - and that's not humanly possible.
The Math of High-Probability Tendencies
Consider a typical film breakdown file from one of our DI FBS clients. This Defensive Coordinator breaks down dozens of categories of information on each play, and each category contains several different possible values (see the table on the right).
He's taken the time to break down film on this team because, like you, he's looking for tendencies that stand out. A tendency can occur in any combination of these different categories he's identified. It could be on 1st Down from a Trips Formation, or from a Pistol Backset in the Red Zone, or from 11 Personnel on the Right Hash, and so on. The number of possible situations where a tendency could be revealed is really a function of math, not football: 4 x 4 x 3 x 5 x 15 x 7 x 14 x 5 x 2 =
3,528,000 possible combinations, containing... 1,247 High-Probability Tendencies (80% or higher certainty), including... 46 Game Changers (80+% Red Zone & 3rd Down tendencies) That's right, he's dealing more than 3.5 million possible combinations where a tendency could exist. And in there are thousands of High-Probability Tendencies, and dozens of specific tendencies that can change the outcome of a game.

Overcoming Human LimitationsYour ability to identify game-changing tendencies really isn't a function of your intelligence as a coach, or the amount of time you spend watching film, or the number of nights you spend in the office. The fact is, it's humanly impossible to fully search your film data to find these game altering tendencies. And your film system, as powerful as it is, can't help you overcome this limitation. It's been designed to help you sort through film clips to focus on areas of interest, but it isn't able to process 3.5 million possible combinations any more than you are.
That is where RII Sports Technology fits in. We provide technology that allows you to not only process every one of these 3.5 million possibilities, but to do it in minutes. Then we package this information in visual, intuitive & interactive platforms that save you time and make it easy for coaches and players to understand and implement. Back to our Defensive Coordinator, he used his film system to generate a 65 page report just showing his opponent's various tendencies by Formation. In that report the strongest tendency he found for a Bubble Screen play call was 26% - from a Trips Formation. With RII Sports Technology he was able to quickly find a situation where he could be 83% certain that a Bubble Screen was coming. Turns out the key was Trips Formation, Strong Left with 10 yards to go (one of those 3.5 million combinations). Sure enough, he was able to sniff that out every time and win those downs that week. |

Your Opponent, Fully Exposed
When we scan your film data we generate two types of Scan Results - Situational & Outcome scans.
Situational Scans provide you with High Probability tendencies in the way we typically think of a tendency - for any situation you are able to predict specific outcomes (plays, direction, coverages, formations, routes, blitzes, etc.) The Situational Scan Report shown below is a live sample of the reports our Scan Service generates. It contains more than 3,000 unique tendencies for a one of the offenses in that plays in the BIG12. Each of these tendencies has occurred with at least 51% certainty on at least 6 different occasions. You can use the filters on the report to very quickly find High-Probability Tendencies that mean the most to you as a coach.
For example, if you want to look for High-Probability Tendencies this offense shows when they are in 11 Personnel select "11" in the Personnel Filter. In the Tendencies field on the left you'll notice that there are three outcomes that you can predict with a high degree of confidence when they are in 11 Personnel - the Vertical Pass Concept and when they'll either Run or Pass the ball. Clicking on the "100%" next to the the "P" in the Tendencies field will instantly show you all the situational combinations where you can be 100% certain this team is going to Pass the ball from 11 Personnel. The first one on the list tells you that when this team has 9 yards to go and is in 11 Personnel, they are 100% likely to be passing the ball (6 out of 6 times in our breakdown data they did exactly that).

Outcome Scans are "reverse scans". Rather than looking through situational factors to predict what's coming, an Outcome Scan looks at specific outcomes (plays, coverages, blitzes, etc) and identifies the High-Probability Indicators (or Keys) that usually precede that outcome. An Outcome Scan shows you what you can confidently "key on" if you're looking for a specific play, coverage, blitz, etc. The Outcome Scan Report shown below is a live sample of the reports our Scan Service generates. You can use the filters on the report to very quickly find High-Probability Indicators or Keys that mean the most to you as a coach.
For example, if you want to identify pre-snap keys for this BIG12 Offense's 24 Zone Read play select "24ZR" from the Run Play filter in the Outcomes field on the left. The display shows the High-Probability indicators (keys) for the 24 Zone Read play. This offense only runs their 24 Zone Read play from a GW (Gun Weak) Backfield (18 out of 18 24ZR plays have come from a GW Backfield); they almost always run their 24 Zone Read play against an EVEN Front (16 of 18 times); and they usually run it on 1st & 10 (14 of 18 times). So, if they aren't in a Gun Weak Backfield, or you're in an ODD Front, or if it's 2nd & 5 - you can be very confident that you won't see a 24 Zone Read play.
